Actor Kamal Hassan, who celebrated his 60 years in the film industry yesterday in Chennai, is soon expected to kick-start his dropped film 'Thalaivan Irukkindran' after 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar. The film will be jointly produced by Raaj Kamal films International in association with Subaskaran of Lyca Productions. AR Rahman has already begun composing music for this magnum opus.
While there have been speculations that Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu has been roped into the film, in the musical event that was held yesterday in Chennai for Kamal Haasan completing 60 years, it was announced that Vadivelu will be joining hands with Kamal Haasan for this upcoming project.
Interestingly, Vadivelu was at the celebration of Kamal Haasan's 60 years in cinema called 'Ungal Naan' that was held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium. The veteran comedian left the audience with his speech in which he shared about his time shooting for 'Devar Magan'. He also revealed the funniest incidents with Sivaji and Kamal Haasan. Vadivelu had the audience in splits, reminding them once again why he's the undisputed king of comedy in Tamil.
Directed by Kamal Haasan himself, Thalaivan Irukkindraan brings back the magical combo of Kamal and AR Rahman after 19 years. The duo had earlier worked together for Thenali, Indian. Kamal Haasan had recently revealed that Oscar winning composer AR Rahman has already given him two super hit songs for the film. The film's shooting is expected to start later this year.
'Thalaivan Irukkindran' was stalled for various reasons, but many said it will be a controversial flick and that is why it had been postponed. The film was earlier planned as a Hindi-Tamil bilingual with Kamal playing the lead in Tamil and a Bollywood actor fronting it in Hindi. With the project set to revived now, it is still unclear what plans Kamal Haasan for the film.
