The Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at North Shore University Hospital is one of only three cardiac programs in the US and Canada to receive three stars (highest quality rating) in all categories that were scored by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). Stroke Outcomes Data North Shore University is the only NYSDOH and Joint Commission recognized Comprehensive Stroke Center in Nassau County and holds the Stroke Gold Plus and Target Stroke Elite Plus award, which is the highest quality measure award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association that is represented in the NSUH Stroke Quality report data.
