What are Stretch marks?

These are the scars that appear as linear thin lines on the shoulders, breasts, underarms, abdomen, hips, thighs, and back of lower limbs of calf muscles. These are usually found in pregnant women or in people who have gained weight considerably quickly. Except for the aesthetic disfigurement, stretch marks are not a physical threat and most of it usually doesn't fade over time.

They appear as pink to purple lines initially. In dark-skinned individuals the lines are seen as dark lines.
